In this paper, a method combines the optimal route choice for power supplying and the allocation of every node's voltage are used to reduce the network loss during electric power system. Network topology has been simplified considering the regional power network's characteristics, and the concept of tree base and equivalent branch have been proposed to diminish the range of solution-space. Meanwhile the using of both the real-number encoding method adapting to the radial network and the genetic manipulation shortens the lengths of chromosome, enhances the operation efficiency, and reduces the probability of infeasible solutions'generation. The new OPF method, which combines primal-dual interior point method and branch and bound method, is used for optimizing the system's node voltage configuration. This thesis also analyzes the problem of load shedding. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by the numerical results on the IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 67-bus power system.
