The Study On Communication System Of Wide Area Measurement System

In power system PMU constitute corresponding WAMS based on need of measuring tasks.The communication system which transmit information and instructions is important in the WAMS. After study of communication technology and comparison of several communication modes,this paper chooses the embeded Ethernet and the GPRS as the communication modes on account of the effectivity and reliability. Data compression software is made for the communication system based on LZW and Huffman coded methods. After repeated comparisons and experiments, this paper chooses the LZW coded method as the ideal data compression method,the compression ratio for measurement data will usually be no more than 0.5. Based on the characteristic that the portable WAMS is suited to phasor measurement,this paper puts forward a three-point method for measurement of zero-sequence parameters of double-circuit transmission lines, some experiments are done to test the algorithm.
