The Reasons And Countermeasures Of The Contamination Flashover Of Composite Insulator

The composite insulators have some good performances, such as high intensity, high ratios of strength to weight, no zero values, vandalism resistant, and high polluted flashover voltage. However, contamination flashover accidents take place from time to time, so it is important to research the contamination flasdover of the composite insulators. In this paper, based on a great deal of references, following research has been finished: (1) the hydrophobicity characteristics of silicone rubber in contamination and wet conditions is researched by test. (2) the contamination flashover character of composite insulator in contaminant and wet conditions is researched by test. And the influence of hydrophobicity, ESDD, atmospheric pressure, humidity, temperature on the flashover voltage has been found. (3) the preventing contamination flashover countermeasures have been found bsed on test and experience.
