A Study On The Protection And Use Of The Industrial Heritage Of Qingdao

With the development of economy in our country, the requirements for readjusting industrial structure all over the country are becoming more obvious. Many old factories have ceased production, or moved away from the center of cities. Otherwise, these industrial remains located in the central city record the track of urban growth. The paper deals with the industrial relic such as industrial heritage. In the manner depending on historical materials and research in China and abroad and determination of facts, investigation on how to realize the great value of historical relic is carried in ,which is on the base of the analysis for the industrial remains playing an important role on the urban growth. And attention is paid to how to protect the historical track in the industrial age as to upholding the inklings of the urban development. In Qingdao, which is an example regarding as an important industrial city in China, the work on the protecting and using historical relic is proceeding, set against the background of implementing strategic plans such as bay development and protection and the third general survey of cultural relic.There are six parts in this article.In the first part, this paper elaborates on the definition of industrial heritage from connotation to extension and on the development of protecting industrial remains systematically. According to the analysis of value composition and implementation, it has discussed for the important means of protecting and using industrial heritage.In the second part, by means of analyzing, comparing, and summarizing the basic practice mode of industrial heritage, the instance for protecting and using industrial remains has been introduced. In the third part, it has been introduced the example of the local ways of protecting and using industrial heritage in Qingdao. The summarized experience has provided the experience and lessons for formulating plans of the local protecting and using industrial heritage in Qingdao. The forth part has introduced the situation of industrial remains in Qingdao. First, by reviewing the formation and history of Qingdao, industry is irreplaceable in Qingdao. And then, the potential arrange of industrial heritage is defined on the basis of analyzing and summarizing the development feature of industry in Qingdao. In the fifth part, it provides the possible advice for the protection and use of industrial heritage in Qingdao, on the base of summarizing the experience and policy in home and abroad with the character of Qingdao. In the last part, the whole paper is summarized.The main research of industrial heritage protection and using has been introduced by means of practice and academic theory. But the research is not further. On the site of research perspective and method, it has been investigated by the way of tour management and architecture to set from the tour of industrial heritage and architectural design. But the study, which researching from history and geography change, is rare. Now, it is blank for the result of systematically combing the industrial heritage in Qingdao. That's why the paper tried to discuss from the site of history and geography so as to find out the abundance intension of the industrial heritage in Qingdao. And all this has reflected the importance and urgency.
