Journal bearing is often used accessory in the lubrication system. With the development of micro-machine and ultra-precision machine, Research and Analysis of Thin Film Lubrication Properties for Journal Bearing the thin film lubrication has become the focus of attention. The functions of lubricant viscosity with absorbent layer thickness of solid surface, temperature and shear rate etc. are founded under thin film lubrication in this paper. Applying numerical analysis method, lubrication properties under the condition of thin film are analyzed in this study.Reynolds equation of the variable viscosity is constructed about the thin film lubrication of Journal bearing. The change of viscosity express the rheological property of the fluid. Reynolds equation of the variable viscosity about Journal bearing is corrected by the equivalent viscosity model, and analysis of thin film lubrication properties for journal bearing is done.Temperature and shear rate are the major considerations in the study. Based on the theory of liquid lubrication and the study of equivalent viscosity model, the equivalent viscosity model of temperature correcting and the equivalent viscosity model of shear thinning correcting about journal bearing are constructed respectively with rational simplification. The effect of temperature on lubricant viscosity is introduced to the analysis of thin film lubrication properties. Reynolds equation and energy equation of journal bearing of the two viscosity models are derived. The pressure distribution, temperature field and the load capacity characteristic are also calculated and analyzed. In order to validate the mathematical models derived in this study, a experiment model is calculated with correcting models of viscosity provided. The derived models are generally correct and valuable for theoretical studies of the thin film lubrication and practical engineering calculations.
