There are a large proportion of thermal power units,small hydropower in many grids of our country;meanwhile,load and peak-valley difference increase,as well as the nuclear power and long-distance transmission which have no ability of peak regulation.So the economic security of grid operation,power reasonably plan need to be paid more attention to.In view of the above questions,thermal power gird and pumped-storage stations are discussed.Pumped-storage stations' energy-saving,its best capacity and other related questions are researched.The model of grid energy consumption is set up.The concept of grid energy consumption characteristics is introduced,which can be used to analysis the energy-saving and its various influencing factors.Through economic evaluation methods of the pumped-storage plant,its programming model is built.Taking Shandong power grid as an example, the best capacity in thermal power grid is calculated and sensitivity analysis is taken.
