Electro- hydraulic proportional control technology is a new kind technology developed on the basis of the traditional electro-hydraulic servo technology. This paper mainly studies the improvement of the displacement control method of the electro hydraulic proportional valve. By studying the structure and principle of proportional control valve, a PID based proportional valve controller is designed.In this design, the mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic proportional valve of the steel mill is built by MATLAB. The control results are obtained, and the functional requirements of the PID controller are analyzed. Then the performance of the Simulink simulation is carried out, and the simulation results are obtained. According to the result, the PID controller is analyzed, and the corresponding model is established. When the simulation results are compared with the classical PID controller, the classical PID controller is improved, the fuzzy PID control algorithm is proposed, and the fuzzy PID controller is designed. Finally, we put forward the scheme of optimal design.The results show that the conventional PID controller is limited, so we need to use some technology to further improve. The optimization scheme is used to improve the performance of the fuzzy PID controller. Compared with the general PID controller, it can improve the response rate at the same time. The following advantages: 1.the technology is mature, the structure is flexible, and it not only can be used in conventional PID regulation, but also according to the requirements of the control system, the use of various PID variants, such as PD, PI control, integral separation PID control, PID control with dead zone, variable speed integral PID control, PID control, etc. 2.It is easy to be familiar with and master、 It don’t need to find a mathematical model、 The control effect is good. 3. Electro- hydraulic proportional control valve improved power unit with light weight, easy to implement variable speed, shorter start- up time, easy operation, low cost advantages. 4. With respect to the use of the throttle valve control system, the load speed of the system is poor characteristics, speed is also affected by a large load, speed, poor stability, and the fundamental reason is the pressure at both ends of the throttle valve cannot be stable before and after the poor. Electro- hydraulic proportional control valve of the speed control system, greatly improved speed stability.
