With the development of the shipbuilding industry and the automatic control technology,the CPP(controllable pitch propeller) has got the extensive application due to it's more advantages than FPP(fixed pitch propeller) in some fields. STCW78/95 Pact(International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) has listed CPP propulsion equipment as an essential training item for senior engineers.However,domestic crew are not familiar with the operation and management of CPE Overall,the research on CPP has a great gap between China and developed countries at the aspect of whether hardware or software.Through analysis and comparison of structural characteristics,working principle, control mode,properties of CPP propulsion systems made in China and abroad,this paper introduces the CPP development status and future development direction concretely.In view of the extensive application,complexity of propulsion system,and diversity of control mode of CPP,combined with the research of full scale ship control,this paper proposes a subject as follow:combined the data from a real ship with general research on CPP propulsion systems,the paper emphasis on the CPP integrated control mode when ship is in maneuvering operation.The conclusions could be applied to voyage management and training for training vessel of Dalian Maritime University.Firstly,this paper gives a detail introduction of working principle of ship CPP propulsion system and traits of remote control system.Secondly,according to the optimization of CPP remote control mode which is applied most extensively,the paper does some relevant researches in this field.It analyzes the engine speed-propeller pitch matching problem aiming to reducing fuel consumption.It gets the highest propeller efficiency curve by "atlas method".Combined with the relevant chart,it analyzes the influence of fuel oil consumption rate on fuel oil consumption quantity.Through the analysis of automatic load-control mode,it aims to solve the problem of load setting in integrated control model.Furthermore,it also gives the method to avoid and reduce random disturbance(For example wave could lead to transient resistance of ship condition) which might cause the engine-propeller mismatching.Finally,it analyzes application of integrated control model to "Yukun" training ship. This paper does the basic research on CPP ship propulsion system.Some conclusions may be helpful for the operation of CPP ship propulsion system and training crews.
