Drive shaft--a main component in the car transmission system plays a key role in transmission action and torsion when it is running.The drive shaft assembly consists of universal joints and drive shaft.At present,the constant velocity driving device which is composed of ball-cag type constant velocity joint together with three pivot shaft type constant velocity joint is used by automobile transmission system mostly.As the structure of constant velocity joint is very complicated,the precision of making is high,Mechanics function is the key factor which influences the function of the car.To analyse the drive shaft assembly by FEM(Finite Element Method),Using finite element method to analyze automobile drive axle housing structure and taking it optimization into account make sense in improving automobile performance,reducing the cost of design and manufacture of cars and increasing capability of market competition.In my thesis,constant velocity drive shaft on the F-F type car of a certain domestic factory is regarded as research objects.We use different sections to analyse the FEM,building ball-cage type constant velocity joint and Tripod constant velocity joint simple model,and using ANSYS Workbench to analyse ball-cage type constant velocity joint and ball-cage type constant velocity joint respectively with statics analysis.By analyzing its nephogram of stress and strain,we achieve the fact that constant velocity joint Contact stress and some distributing rules were made,by using Hertz contact theory,the contact stress of the constant velocity joints in the ideal state was calculated,and compared with contact stress,we can find value was very similar with the finite element value.It is said Finite element is right.This result indicates that the contact stress analysis of the constant velocity joints is credible.On the basis of statics analysis to analyse constant velocity joint live and safe factor,the result shows that tripod constant velocity joint safe factor is the best,which can be better. Bettering the design by the total quality of tripod constant velocity joint as the final goal, finally,we can draw some better conclusions.By analyzing the calculated statistics,we can offer some valuable evidence for the design of constant velocity joint and the drive shaft assembly.
