| The road is important space environment for a city.The most direct feeling to the city is usually from street,so landscape of street is high impact for the city image.Now at China, the road as one of urban landscape element plays an important role and has important significance.It guide people to cognize the city and also it is an important factor to deal with the handle axis of the urban landscape and punctate landscape.The value of research for road head landscape was showed in《The Image of the City》which wrote by Keven.Linky,he divided the city landscape to five model and the first one was road,so road landscape is most important for city landscape design.It stands in the central stage for city image show and is the key point for promoting city charm.The basic concept of visual landscape emphasize based on sensitivity demand of users or observers.Except showing the essence and biological characteristics,visual landscape must show the human traces and their goals and planning.Furthermore,the thinking to the perception and needs of the masses is helpful to designer to know how to use their resources more effective.In this paper,from the reflection to current situation of street furniture,setting Xi'an as an example,combining traditional elements and street facilities in the city,through the comparative study for the relationship between traditional elements and modern life,we get the construction style for Xi'an which has historical and cultural backgrounds.Respect the overall environment is respect the urban culture,history and traditions.From the perspective of the overall environment of the city to control the road head structure is the key solution to change the chaotic and character loosing situation happened during old city transformation.This paper includes two parts,theory analysis and case study.In the theory part,form the vision the road,based on the principle of subjective image of passers,it expatiate the urban road landscape design theory,focuses on landscape design of related facilities of major urban roads(including:urban road alignment,cross-sectional,road virescence,road crossing,squares,three-dimensional traffic,sidewalks and other ancillary facilities),and also make the evaluation based on the above elements to establish a comprehensive evaluation system for visual analysis:It provides quantitative evaluation of inferior reference indicator for landscape planning and design.In the case study part,choosing representative urban road landscape of Xi'an as an example,using the principles to research the cause of formulation for road head landscape and visual analysis system to determine the level of road landscape,which can be fully reflected by theory production.
