With rapid development of computational fluid dynamics(CFD),room air distribution can be predicted and all kinds of parameters can be analyzed by HVAC designers during design stages.So HVAC designers can select air distribution,which not only can safeguard arts demand,meet the thermal comfort of human body and create nicer internal air quality,but also attain energy-saving.However,there still remains a lot to do on the application of CFD technology in engineering design in our country and CFD technology can not assist design timely,which is also of great value to the researchers.CFD technology is applied to optimize the air distribution of printing workshop in this paper,which will solve the difficult problems existing in such large space.Firstly,on the basis of peculiarity of the printing workshop,the one side air supply-one side air return system is chosen.Secondly,according to the characteristics of air distribution design of printing workshop and the simplified model,this paper use commercial software Fluent to simulate the airflow,temperature field and velocity field in the printing-workshop large space adopting standarded k-εmodel,and the results of research are applied in the actual engineering.Thirdly,this paper also researches on the evaluation criteria of air distribution system in large space building, and suitable evaluation criteria will be used in the printing workshop.This paper is set in a printing workshop of the newspaper office in Xi'an.It also dose some numerical simulatins and analgses about air distribution system of different cases.The results show that the one side air supply-one side air return system satisfies the temperature request when the air supply is the designed temperature.The variation of air supply's velocity and angle has effects on indoor air velocity field.But the change of height of air outlet has less effect on the indoor air velocity field.According to the analytic comparation of temperature and velocity field in those cases,the case 7 is suitable for the air-conditioning design of the printing workshop.
