| With the continuous improvement of power station boiler parameters, the safety and economy of units is concerned by more and more people. Combustion of pulverized-coal in furnace is a complex physical and chemical reaction with frequent fluctuation. It's very difficult to detect the specific development of the combustion directly, so blindness may exists in the boiler operation. Therefore, it is significant to study on effective methods of flame detection, diagnosis and analysis, and to establish timely adjustment scheme in order to optimize boilers operation.Three-dimension temperature field visualization based on flame images processing provides a new method for combusion inspection and analysis in furnace. Recently this technology have been quickly developed and raised. Using flame image to inspect the combusion situation became a key research point. This paper analysised the combusion situation by the image which photoed from the system we installed in power plant and compared to the real situation. The conclusion is that the information included in flame image can reflect the combusion situation well.On this basis, regional development principle is presented creatively for combustion diagnose in this paper. Hypothetically the furnace will be divided into several regions in order to come to the regional development principle. Analysis of the combustion situation based on the flame images have been done to give a verification. And we also have investigated this principle how to apply in practice, which has got an ideal result.According to this principle, we can find the instability of some region and give a signal to the operator for timely adjustment. If it's necessary, we can also give a out-fire signal for outfiring protection. At the same time, this principle can help us in analysis after the accident, which can help us finding the region and cause of the accident, and giving an improvement scheme.
