As the rapid development of the aviation industry, the airport expand continuously and become more and more saturated, which rise more problems in airport operation and traffic controlling. For more correct understanding of airport pavement traffic rules, one of the effective methods is establishing a system of airport pavement traffic simulation. At present, the domestic study of airport pavement computer simulation is almost blank, so a reasonable simulation model of airport pavement is priority.Airport pavement traffic is a complex system of multi regions and multi rules which contains runways, taxiways, by-pass taxiway, airfield etc, common discrete methods and differential methods are not suitable for airport traffic simulation. Cellular automaton has advantages of parallel, rapid, simple, and has sophisticated traffic applications. According to the characteristics of airport pavement traffic and the differences between airport pavement traffic and vehicular traffic in this paper, cellular automaton can be used in airport pavement traffic simulation, and a new multi-one-dimensional cellular automaton model was proposed. The airport pavement was dividied into n one-dimensional cellular automatons according to the functions and intersections, and the one-dimensional cellular automations were connected by link cellular; According to the differences of taxiways, airfield and so on, parameters of cellular such as length, maximum speed and maximum distance were defined by the discussions of a variety of airport pavement traffic conditions, and the aircraft straight taxiing rules were defined too; Some rule algorithms of changing road were put forward by a variety of traffic conditions such as multi-changing road, changing path and so on; The graphical simulation of the airport pavement traffic model was executed by using the real data of airport. In the simulation process. During the simulation, the model showed that the behaviors of airplane in the simulation were similar with real airport traffic, the simulation results could reflect the state of airport operation, which had a certain reference value in the airport pavement transport planning and control strategies.
