Arch bridges constitute a major component in the long-span bridge category.Because of its high bearing capacity,efficient utilization,saving,low cost and aesthetics.However,arch bridges transmit the applied loads to axial force mainly,which makes arch bridges uniquely susceptible to buckling failure,especially with the slender arch ribs and stiffness decreased.A three dimensional finite element model of GuoHeâ…¢Bridge(the concrete filled steel tube bow string arch bridge) built by using the analysis softwar MIDAS/Civil6.71,and is aslo studied. Some coefficients of stability of different state after the construction are found. On the basis,the influence of different factors such as the shape and the rigidity of the wind bracings, high-span ratio, steel ratio, arch rib Inclination are discussed. And separately for the geometric nonlinearity and material nonlinearity problems have been studied. This article also followed the application of genetic algorithm to determine a reasonable arch axis in order to help bridge design staff .Base on the conclusion of study at home and abroad,directed against stability of long-span arch,this study,studied from numerical analysis,Provides for the direction to the people engaged in the near type arch bridge engineering after detailed. analysis of the design and construction method of the real project.
