CAE technique is playing an important role in modern design of automobile products with the development of computer technique and numerical analysis theory, which almost runs through the whole progress of automobile design as an emerging technique.The Steering System is an important part of Automotive Chassis . It is a part of automotive which is directly exposed to the drivers,and it affects the car's ride comfort ,the handling and stability and speed and other important factors, its also impact automotive NVH performance.Engine idling vibration and road conditions are the main reasons which are leading to the steering system vibration. So serious impact on vehicle comfort and ride quality and can easily lead to its driver's driving fatigue . Therefore greatly affects traffic safety . In this pape,based on many factors of affecting steering wheel vibration analysis one by one . According to the multi-body dynamic theory ,a multi-body dynamic model is estab1ished by means of ADAMS, the random excitation of the four wheels is used as the inputs of the system. The changing rule of vertical acceleration power spectrum density function of Steering Wheel in the frequency domain in different speed and road is simulated by means of ADAMS. The affect of the vehicle parameters such as the stiffness and damp of the suspension is analyzed from the vibration .Combined with advanced CAE analysis technology , finding the steering system resonance is mainly due to steering system of the first order natural frequency and engine idling near from the angle of vibration isolation. By optimizing the support of the thickness of steering system, make its first order natural frequency of 35Hz or more through Nastran, thereby improve the system frequency and prevent engine idling resonance .So the automobile steering system vibration comfort reaches the performance requirements and it achieves a satisfactory result.The above study advanced a valuable method in design of steering system as well as other parts of automobile, by which, design cost and period will be cut down. It will have a remarkable potential in engineering application.
