Chart Course Plotter System (CCPS) is important output equipment for ship navigation. Development and perfection of CCPS is an important aspect of modernization for navigation system.Currently, our existing CCPS is open-loop stepper motor system, it doesn't have detecting feedback device and affects the precision. Additionally, CCPS and DCINU (Display and Control Integrated Navigation Unit) use the same Operator Interface, lacks the independent man-machine interaction system, so the Designs of new CCPS is imperative.Firstly, this paper gives the CCPS design proposal according to requirements and technical specification, and its operational principle, constitution, choice of software and hardware platform are also introduced.Secondly, this paper establishes the mathematical model of the CCPS, designs the PID control algorithm, and gains PID parameter .Based on the deeply research on Fuzzy Control theory, the Fuzzy-PID controller of CCPS is designed by integrating Fuzzy Control with PID Control. The results show that Fuzzy-PID control system's dynamic and static capabilities make a great enhancement.Finally, this paper designes CCPS's software and hardware system. Under the VxWorks, the control module and the interface module are completed perfectly, and the system contact surface is designed with WindMl.During the design process, from requirements definition, system analysis, and system design each module is analyzed. The conception of standardization and engineering is fused in the system software development and management. This is not only conducive to implementation of the modular, but also beneficial to products upgrading, expansion and maintenance.
