Charts course plotting-system is based on ECDIS. With the growing range of ECDIS applications, it is needed to improve the previous design in order to achieve system which are integrated, modularized, extensible, easily maintained, easily implemented, and easily used. The ECDIS is integrated with combat maritime support software and plotting-system in this paper. With the application of digital plotting-system, the digital paper-chart is achieved. Moreover, the battlefield environment for commanders becomes transparent, and in a sense "chart about strategies" is achieved, so as to it is able to improve the combat efficiency.First of all, referring to relevant information in and out, this paper describes the study of naval ships sail and battle process, analyzes the actual needs of mariners, chooses the plotting system based on the Linux operating system and Qt graphical tools, and designs plotting-system scheme which meets the specific functional requirements. Then, through the work of the various aspect of the system of in-depth study, corresponding function modules are abstracted and implemented by C++ language.During the design process, from requirements definition, system analysis, and system design each module is analyzed. The conception of standardization and engineering is fused in the system software development and management. This is not only conducive to implementation of the modular, but also beneficial to products upgrading, expansion and maintenance. Then, based on ECDIS and combat support system software, the chart course plotter software has been developed. Finally, the system interface operation, plotting accuracy and communication functions are tested comprehensively.
