The rapid development of simulation technology provides a powerful tool for further researches on reinforced concrete structures.To prevent the reinforced concrete structures from destruction and collapse,it is of great significance to perform the elasto-plastic analysis of reinforced concrete structures by means of a computer,including the analysis and simulation of its destruction procedure.On the base of many references,several common numerical methods are analyzed and compared in this paper.And explicit element method is used in making numerical simulations on destruction process of reinforced concrete column by LS-DYNA, which is a well-developed finite element analysis application.First,numerical simulations on destruction process of reinforced concrete at present are generally introducted in this paper,then the function characteristic and calculation method of LS-DYNA are deseribed.It pays more attention to studying some basic problems that must be solved before simulation,such as combined model of steel and concrete,constitutive relation and failure criterion of the material,the choice of finite element and material model.Through comparison and analysis, SOLID164 and BEAM161 were chosen for concrete and steel element respectively, which adopts separate modeling.The concrete material adopts MAT78(MAT-SOIL -CONCRETE) model and steel material adopts MAT3(MAT_PLASTIC_KINEMA TIC) model.Numerical simulations on destruction process of reinforced concrete is made using failure and erosion of the element in this paper,Which is a specific function of LS-DYNA.Many explorations for modeling,meshing,loading and solving by means of LS-DYNA to simulate and analyze is done using a specific example in this paper. Finally,numerical simulation on destruction process is implemented and the results are also displayed by picture,animations and curves.The rationality of the selection on finite element,material model and material parameters has been Verified.At the same time,the effect on reinforced concrete column failure pattern by longitudinal reinforcement,stirrup and loading speed is analyzed.Finally,the content of this paper is summarized and some problems,which need further study,are proposed.
