As a new structure, the irregular staggered-floor shear wall has been known for it's advantage by people. Along with the in-depth study and the application in engineering, irregular staggered-floor shear wall is continuously expanding . However, there is a lack of understanding for the irregular staggered-floor shear wall's earthquake resistance performance., and we have insufficient understanding. It is well .known that China is in such an earthquake-prone. So it is something of value in the theory and applied research study the seismic behavior. This thesis reviewed research on the theory of domestic irregular staggered-floor shear wall and engineering applications , and as a basis for a tentative study.First analyzed the earthquake response for the irregular staggered-floor shear wall. By building three-dimensional finite element models, with different height and different positions of irregular staggered-floor shear wall portion, the seismic analyses of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall and regular staggered-floor shear wall structures are accomplished by using the earthquake response spectrum mothod respectively. The stress characteristics of these two structures are compared comprehensively and systematically,aiming at studing the seismic characteristics of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall structure.Second, from the irregular layout of shear wall, this thesis studied the effects of stiffness on the wall. Analyzed two finite element analysis of shear wall using ANSYS software, and analyzed of the same size in the same case of loading, caused by irregular staggered-floor shear wal stress component changes in the above cases of lateral stiffness on the impact of the structure.Third, the thesis analyzed the effection of the layout of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall about the structure earthquake resistance performance influence. This thesis established the irregular staggered-floor shear wall model with three different layout programs, which were compared and analyzed through the method of the earthquake response spectrum and elastic time-history method carrying on the comparative analysis, studied the irregular staggered-floor shear wall arrangement way differently to the structure earthquake resistance performance influence.Finally, this thesis unified above analysis and research, proposed some beneficial viewpoint about the irregular staggered-floor shear wall structural design and forecasts the question which the letter remains unresolved in this domain research.By comprehensive and systematic theoretical study of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall structure, it can be seen that the seismic disadvantageous responses is associated with the location layout of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall position and height of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall. In the structure of the irregular staggered-floor shear wall, the structure's movement, period and mode shape is more and more obvious with the height of floor. Because the earthquake's affect to the structure is greater and the reverse effect of the structure is more strongly with higher of the layout of the irregular staggered-floor part in buildings.
