This paper based on the Direct Load Control(DLC) for Electricity demand response,presented a load-shedding control method for the building HVAC water chiller system.In the building HVAC water chiller load-shedding control in Taiwan,if the customer shed the electricity load with manual,it is hard to change the system load to the demand value;moreover,it will cause the difficult for people to allocate the shedding load.Based on the hardware of load-shedding control system,a method with nonlinear programming(NLP) is needed.According to the different performance of each chiller,it could allocate the load-shedding automatically,which achieved the maximum of system cooling load. This paper employed the algorithm with Penalty Function Method(PFM) and Simplex Method(SM). Comparing with other load-shed method such as Equal Load Distribution(ELD) and Coefficient of Performance Maximize(MPCOP),it has a better performance in HVAC system cooling load.This method could be applied to the direct load control hardware with I-7188XA in the factual engineering project.Moreover,this paper has discussed the load-shedding control with building customer comfort standard.This paper combined the load-shedding control with ASHRAE comfort standard:it could not only meet the HVAC load-shedding but also the building customer comfort demand.This paper provides a future research direction to improve the load-shedding control. Through this research,we could get a building HVAC water chiller system control method,which could provide the maximum cooling load.It is a valuable research which could use to the actual engineering,enhance the cooling system efficiency and decrease the electricity demand.This paper has combined the hot research areas between China and overseas,which could provide a future research direction to perfect the load-shedding control.The demand response and load-shedding control principles have a significant influence on the application of the China DLC program and the building energy-saving engineering management.
