Steel is characterized with high strength and high efficiency. Due to inceresingly serious environmental issues, steel structure substitution for masonry and concrete structure has become a reasonable choice. Steel structure acts as an unique and unreplacble role, especially, in building and great span structures. Although steel is usually unfirable, it intends to deformation and fracture owing to its high thermal conductivity when exposed to fire. Besides, steel products are easy to corrode. Therefor, measures must be adopted to prevent fire and corrosion.Coating can be used for steel stracture's fire-retardant and corrosion-resistant which are necessary for steel elements. Coating has unique advantages such as high performance, low price, and convenience. So coating is given priority to consideration when architecturors select the proactive methods for high steel buildings.By analyzing fire-retardant and anticorrosion, this article determined raw materials on the basis of consideration of existing ultra thin fire-retardant coatings. Acrylic resin was regarded as parent metal, water as resolve. The fire-retardant system included ammounium phosphate, pentaery thritol, mealamine and expandable graphite. The anticorrosion system included aluminum hydroxide, zinc phosphate and zinc borate. Meanwhile a few of assistant materials were added to improve the coating's performance.On one hand, by orthogonal testing method, the best matching in flame-resistant system was determined. On the other hand, the style of parent metal was changed. This article analyzed influence of each parent metal on its performance.Approximate mount of parent metal was determined. In addition, by adjusting mounts of various components in anticorrosion system, the best matching was achieved. With related researches about antifire performance and antispetical properity, this ultrAHin fire-retardant coating with high performance was obtained.Finally, with existing fire waterborne coatings as comparative testings, this coating has been proved to have advantages as following: long time for flame-retardant, high viscosity and high bond strenghth, relatively short drying time,convenience in production of construction, nonpollution, no danger of fire, lower production cost and so on.
