The Research On Planning Strategy Of Urban Mountain-river Landscape Character In Zhangjiajie

In Chinese rapid urbanization process, natural sceneries were destroyed by the current heated urban development, and the adopt of western patternized urban development approaches led to the cities'landscape image becoming unitary. It was brought great impulse to original landscape characteristic of Chinese cities. In such background, the urban landscape study that focused on the urban characteristic is imperative.Mountain-river city is the ideal approach for the Chinese urban development in 21st century. It has profound native culture background and traditional practice apotheosis. It contains deep philosophical and aesthetic concept, and highly epitomizes the characteristic of Chinese culture. This thesis bases on the study of the city with a good mountain and river landscape, and uses problem oriented discussion to find out planning strategy of mountain-river urban landscape character. The outcome can be used as the argument support on the mountain-river city theory, which has a positive academic value; and it also can be applied for the mountain-river cities'landscape character planning. So it also has a sort of practice value.This thesis can be divided into two parts: the first part is the theoretical construction. Firstly, the thesis's research object will be proposed by studying landscape character research trend at home and abroad. Then the basic concept of urban landscape character will be discussed. Secondly, the historical relationship between Chinese cities and natural landscape will be deeply analyzed. The theory and technical basis of urban mountain-river landscape character construction will be summarized. Lastly, the ecological, aesthetical and cultural objectives of urban mountain-river landscape character planning will be concluded, and the planning principle will be analyzed. And then the thesis will try to propose design approaches on ecology, landscape, context and resource aspects of urban mountain-river landscape character. These four approaches are"Relationship Design","Guidance Design","Inheritance Design"and"Development Design".The second part of this thesis is empirical study. The typical representative: Zhangjiajie is selected as the study object. Firstly, the advantage and problem of Zhangjiajie's landscape character will be evaluated by analyzing its current urban mountain-river landscape system. Secondly, the planning methods of Zhangjiajie's urban mountain-river landscape character will be brought forward by applying the four design approaches listed above. The planning methods can be described as these four aspects: ecological conservation of mountain-river landscape, the construction of urban mountain-river form beauty,construction of multiple accreted landscape culture, conservation of mountain-river landscape in natural heritage area. Finally, the review and conclusion of the whole thesis will be presented.
