In order to enhance the economical and technical ability of North-east power grid and ensure the stability and safety of Yimin power plant, by load forecasting data of the economical cost of North-east power grid, it is believed to be necessary and feasible to compensate 500kV Yifeng transmission lines with thyristor controlled series capacitors. Yifeng project used mixed scheme of 15 percent TCSC and 30 percent FSC. The capacity of TCSC is 590.4Mvar and that of FSC is 1173.6Mvar. All capacitors are internal fused capacitor implemented with over-voltage protection and its control strategy. TCSC module and FSC module are installed on two different platforms side by side. It is available to operate the TCSC and FSC independently or run them at the same time. The TCSC and FSC of one line are arranged together and mirror with that of the other line. After financial analysis, the construction of station for series capacitor is feasible. It was shown by technical economy analysis that Yifeng project is feasible and practical.
