Along with the development of regional power network the structure of network becomes more and more complicated. And due to the introduction of power market, it becomes indispensable for the power suppliers to take effective measures to depress the cost of power transmission so as to improve the benefit of their own. Nowadays, decentralized control is usually used to control the reactive voltage. This paper focuses on the application of AVC system for the regional power grid reactive power and voltage control. The system can realize the optimal control of reactive voltage based on the measurement data from the regulative automation system and the angle of the whole system, realize the exact application of reactive compensator and the on-load tap appropriate changer for voltage regulation transformers, and realize the balance of reactive voltage in local site. Thus the target of improving the ratio of voltage eligibility and minimizing the transmission loss can finally be obtained. And through this system, the automation level, the reliability and the profitability of Zhenzhou power network can be greatly improved.
