The water resource system resilience is that the structure and function of the system will be changing when the water resource is influenced by extemal pressure.The water system can be recovered to the initial state or the similar state acting by the water resource system and the extemal force when the extemal pressure disappears. The more and more people focus on the resilience after the second universal disaster reduction meeting in Kobe of Japan at 2005. The people start to recognize that the assessment of water resource system resilience plays the significant role in water resources planning, water resources sustainable development, disaster prevention, disaster reduction which closely related to the production and the livelihood of human.In this paper, firstly, the relevant theories and methods of the water resource system resilience evaluation were expounded, including the concept, type, method, index system of the assessment of water resource system resilience and so on, that is also the theoretical foundation of the study. At the same time, it also clarified the advantages of GIS technology in the evaluation of the assessment of the water resource system resilience, which set up the theoretical and practical basis of the assessment of water resource system resilience supported by GIS based on the multi-source information.The study of assessment of water resource system resilience is on the primary stage. The evaluation indexes of water resource system are selected by the characteristics of water resource, economy and society of Jilin Province, and the evaluation index system is established supported by GIS based on the multi-source information. The result of the assessment of water resource system resilience was achieved by spatial overlay analysis method. Through the analysis of the result, the trend of water resource system resilience distribution was gained.Finally, further analysis of the corresponding conclusions that according to the results of evaluation were achieved, and the achievement and the deficiencies of this paper were stated.
