The main content of this thesis is that the study on synthesis of acrylic modified vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers and preparation of waterborne anti-corrosive coatings.The study on synthesis of acrylic modified vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers. With acrylic acid, butyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate as the acrylic monomers, the waterborne acrylic modified vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers was prepared by solution polymerization. Firstly, vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers were grafted with acrylic monomers to obtain a product containing acrylic grafted vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers and polyacrylate, which was then neutralized by N, N-dimethyl ethanolamine and dispersed into water to get a water dispersible emulsion. The influences of reaction temperature, initiator concentration and acrylate content on the grafting ratio and the effects of acrylic acid content, neutralization degree and the ration of butyl acrylate content to methyl methacrylat content on the properties of the acrylic modified vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers were discussed. The acrylic modified vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and the average molecular weight of grafted copolymers were determined by gel permeation chromatography.The development of waterborne anti-corrosive coatings with home made acrylic modified vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether copolymers emulsion as base. The article first made a brief overview of the waterborne anti-corrosion coatings. Then entered the experimental part and through analysis contrast and a large number of experiments, the paper first selected suitable raw materials considering the performance and the cost of the paint. Then, according to the ratio of pigment and film materials and the recommended amount, it designed the initial formulation, and it also designed experimental process according to the huge actual production experiences. Then based on the initial formulation, according to the experimental process, the influences on the performance of the coat of variety of the content of each component of the coat were researched and the initial formulation was optimized. Then it got the final formulation. Finally, test the properties of anti-corrosion coatings, and get the conclusion that it reaches the command of relative standards.
