The Landscape Assessment Made Reaserch

China has been witnessing the course of rapid urbanization since 1980's . During the term urban landscape has changed greatly. Although we have got some beautiful places in part of some cities , but the visual qualities of urban landscape of most china cities descend. There still have many questions in the process of landscape development, such as having more attention to construction than conservation, more attention to surface than essential. These questions are all related to visual assessment of urban landscape.The thesis researched on basic theory and method of visual assessment of urban landscape by logical discursion and case study. It was made up of seven chapters, mainly including study on value concept, assessment scale, assessment method, descriptions and analysis of visual perception and landscape attributes. The conclusions were as follows:1. The meaning of Landscape concluded appearance of objects and perception of objects. Just like the majority botanical gardenscholar understood, the landscape intial meaning mainly is in the visual landscape, also is the scenery. Now, landscape in meaning same with " scenery", "view" in Chinese, equates in English "scenery" .All of this in the visual concept.2. The same conclusion of landscape can only be achieved when the same value conception be accepted. After discussing the value conception of formal aesthetic, function, culture and ecological, the thesis put forward a new value conception which coordinates true, goodness and beauty together. Only when the project of assessment of landscape be directed by the compositive value conception, could we make our cities look better and balance between our near and long profits ideally. The assessment scale system of landscape was also discussed deeply.3. The quiddity of Assessing landscape was to value the physical environments . Whether the result was exact or not depending on understanding the evolution rules of the relationship between the surface of the physical environment and the true environment. It also depended on the grasping of theories of scientific values conception and methods. Description model (including formal aesthetic model and ecological model), preference model (including psychophysical model, cognitive model and experiential model) and synthetic model (psychological and physical model) were discussed on the aspects of their theory bases, approaching means, and disadvantages. It was indicated that the choice of the value conception been taken not only based on the combining the expects and the public but also relied on the reliability, validity, the purpose of assessment and the resource of assessment.4. The thesis uesd Beijing Olympics park as the examples, through investigates and studies on the spot, carries on the Landscape assessment to Beijing Olympics park, we investigated to the normal people and the experts, manufactures the graph, and assessment to the result, reaserch some conclusion, the analysis appraises Beijing Olympics park landscape the good and bad points, and analysis the Beijing Olympics park's future development. The essence is judgment entity environment value on the landscape stratification plane, judges whether accurately, It is the change discipline between the environment representation and environment essence both assurance as well as the science appraisal theory and the method utilization. The thesis divides into A and B two questionnaires to Beijing Olympics park's landscape assessment, For the normal people and the experts separately, mainly manifests from the ordinary populace aspect to the landscape assessment's conclusion in the tourist to the Beijing Olympics park's satisfactions , including the facility, the transportation, aspect and so on. The conclusion which obtains from the experts divides into esthetics aspect the assessment, the ecology aspect sustainable appraisal, technical, the energy aspect appraisal and so on.
