As a new frame system, stagger trass structure has rational mechanical behavior and compact frame system. Thus, It has extensive application prospect in our country. This dissertation studies the seismic performance and bearing capacity by experiment and non-linear finite element method.First, a two-degree-of-freedom pseudo-dynamic test has been conduct on a 14-storied stagger truss structure model, whose scale is 1/8, in this dissertation, and the characters of seismic response of the structure model, including damage process, deformation capacity, acceleration response, base shear response, hysteretic behavior, and stiffness degradations has been investigated. The results of the test state that stagger trass frame system has strong bearing capacity and lateral stiffness, the stiffness does not degrade apparently, and the seismic response can satisfy the displacement check of China seismic code and the design requirement of no damage under frequent earthquake , repairable damages under basic earthquake and no collapse under rare earthquake. Then, the finite element software ANSYS is utilized to simulate the test model and analyze the non-linear seismic response of the structure. The comparison between finite element results and test results suggests that the trend of time history curve generated by finite element method coincides with the trend of test results. The maximal displacement in the time history curve and the maximal base shear analyzed by finite element method is close to the test results, which validate the rationality of the finite element analyses method proposed by this dissertation. Finally, finite element model of actual project is established in this dissertation according to the method mentioned above, and the influence factors that influence the seismic performance of stagger trass frame system are studied by changing parameters including Vierendeel panel length, trass aspect ratio, height to with ratio of structure, trass type, brace type of the first floor, damping ratio and so on.
