In building up our economy construction, leaders and engineering technology pay close attention to the stability of high side slope because of the frequent happening of serious casualties, enormous economic losses and obstruction of engineering construction which are resulted from the instability of high side slope. The stability of the excavation of high slide slope is an important issue in hydroelectric project and it concerns the excavation of hydropower station, the normal operation after construction and people's safety of life and property. According to this, this thesis makes a study of the high side slope's stability of Jinping Grade One Hydro-Power Station in connection with the potential instability of side slope's excavation:(1) On the basis of abundant outdoor geological information, this thesis have an assessment and analysis on the geological data of the the right side of the station's approach channel side slope. A series of complex geological phenomena of the station's approach channel rock mass, such as unloading faultage, deep fracture zone and interlayer compressive deformative zone. The conclusion it arrives is the possible whole and local damage model.(2) According to the possible combination of several instable masses and sliding rupture pattern, this thesis makes a calculation of the side slope's stability with limit equilibrium method for rigid block. In two dimension calculation, six sections are chosen and their possible destruction pattern is calculated.(3) It discusses the natural side slope's stability under the conditions of dead weight,earthquake and storm, the slope engineering's stability under the conditions of unsupported dead weight,earthquake and storm and supported dead weight,earthquake,storm,reservoir storage,reservoir water plummet and so on. It considers the influence of earthquake,rainfall on side slope's stability and the influence of operating period on the side slope's stability under conditions of reservoir water storage and reservoir water plummet.(4) Considering high side slope's stability can be reflected more truthfully by three-dimensional effect and three-dimensional stability analysis, this thesis makes an analysis of approach channel's stability with three-dimensional limit equilibrium method.(5) Collecting the monitoring data of Jinping Hydro-Power Station's approach channel side slope, this thesis makes an analysis of approach channel side slope's interior deforming monitoring data and streww monitoring data.
