Three-dimension limit equilibrium analysis of slope stability is developing. Compared with two-dimension method, this method can reflect the condition of slope more closer to the fact. So there is the rational to talk about sense and application value to research it.The thesis suggests a new method for stability assessment of landslide with distinctly spatial shape of the sliding surface by extending the two-dimensional general limit equilibrium formulation into three-dimensional assessment model of columns. On theoretical analysis and calculated examples, the method is testified and verified, it is confirmed that results of Three-dimension analysis is more perfect and reliable than those of two-dimension analysis.Thoroughly commenting the typical two-dimension methods, the thesis emphasizes their limitation and induces the subject of thesis. Subsequently present advances of Three-dimension limit equilibrium methods is systematically summarized as well. Then the way and content of the study is proposed.Principles of three-dimensional limit equilibrium method of columns is extension of general two-dimensional limit equilibrium method of slices. In analysis, the landslide body is divided into m slices and n columns perpendicular to sliding. Using arbitray ones as researching target, the article considers that the cylinder cell back plane slide face cuts force together with neutral angleρ. The distinct distribution functions make known the not symmetrical of slide face, and the result may be better satisfy the content actual situation. Using a distribution function to express different post together with neutral angle, and the distribution function of difference makes known the not symmetrical of slide face. Given out the figure of cake, the mechanics parameter, crag earth and water unit weight, the number of cake, the kind of cake, slide face, the coordinate value of water level and slide face x,y ,z, it can establishment equation of orientation and slip orientation droops on the basis of lead. May request out the entire fail-safe system of landslip part of the body. The instance calculation by means of reckons is analysed obtaining: it is in great extent underrating the stability to slip the part of the body in the way of the two dimension pattern in the meanwhile it is living moreover when carrying on the anti-analysis , and be able to overestimates the crag earth part of the body shearing strength once more in the way of such. But the three dimensions patterns considers the effect to the stability of slide face curvature and crossrange restraint when being living calculation and can make up the defect that the two dimension pattern is living this two respect. Much simplification with the two dimension territory, this means need to be living, and such rightful quality and feasible quality is fixed in the process in practice application examination.
