The construction of the Special Passenger Train required highly smoothness and stably sub-rail foundations, so limited the distortion is the linchpin of the Special Passenger Train's designment. Based this thesis on the first bitch of the construction and the first one to put into operation of the Special Passenger Train between Jinan and Qingdao, carrying out the geotechnical engineering investigation including laboratory experiment, field in-situ tests, field settlement monitoring tests to systematically analysis the concerned settlement calculation & forecast methods of the special passenger train. The primary results:(1) Investigating the calculation, analysis, forecast method of the settlement, so as to choosing the most logical method in the process of application.(2) Aiming at choosing the compression modulus in relation to the 100-200kpa applied stress resulting from laboratory experiment, this precondition distinctly departure from the complexion of practice and take on inconsequentially. Getting through analyzing the laboratory experiment, finding out that the relation between the compression modulus & consolidation coefficient and axial strain are taking on hyperbola function, and then exerting this outcome in the process of the settlement calculation, this process measures up the practice; at the same time, this calculation process take the stress history and consolidation state into account, put this survey into action to calculate the subsoil settlement during the subgrade filling, so as to improving the calculation accuracy.(3) Contrasting and analyzing the settlement results revealed that during the process of the design choosing field in-situ tests to estimate the settlement is more reasonable. Aiming at the special section & the common section, this survey suggests that it takes the plate loading test & the standard penetration test individually and combines with the other test methods to calculate the settlement.(4) During the traditional settlement forecast process, it takes the single method to forecast the whole project and takes error analysis to the results ,so as to choosing the best scheme, But every forecast method has their own rational applicable scope. Comparing with the settlement forecast process, it presents that: during the forecast process, it is rational and minimum-error to take the growth curve model to forecast the subsoil settlement of the subgrade filling process; but taking hyperbola model to the subsoil settlement of the final settlement and post-construction settlement.(5) Varying with depth, the final settlement of the interior ground are taking on exponential type function. Using this conclusion, it can forecast the section's settlement distribution as the unequal settlement are known.
