In recent years, the automobile industry is developping rapidly as the standard of living promoting and international automobile company transferring the industry to the lower cost region ,and now,our country has become the second biggest automobile producer in the world.As now the financial crisis attacking, the foreign automobile producers are in financial trouble, someone will be out and the automobile world will step into a new situation.So, as a policy support industry, we need to do research in automobile ,upgrade industry and try hard to be in good place in the automobile world.Based on this situation, this paper focuses on electronic control unit (ECU), the heart part of gasoline engine.The main work included: referring to the similar mature products abroad, designing hardware and developing software of ECU prototype independently, setting experimental platform for simulation testing and carrying out bench test. The details are as follows:1. Delphi/ITMS-6F electronic control system equipped in SAIL car of SGM was completely analyzed at first. As well as the function of ECU, the characteristic of sensor output signals and actuator driving signals were obtained by referring to literature, signal sampling and testing. Then the plan of designing the principle ECU software and hardware were established.2. Designed the hardware of ECU: micro-controller determination, sensor signal processing circuit design, actuator driving circuit design and system circuit design for micro-controller. In addition, the original harness of ITMS-6F is modified in order to fit the principle ECU.3. Developed the software system: program was developed in top-down mode. And general structure was made, fully considering both experiment data from bench test and basic knowledge of internal combustion engine. The completed tasks consisted of crankshaft signal processing task, spark ignition task, fuel injection task, and work condition task and so on. Program schedules tasks and every task had their own function and only priority, and had good realtime performance. 4. Control strategy of non-idle steady working condition: focusing on the fuel injection strategy, spark ignition strategy and calculated value from the MAP.5. The software and hardware of ECU prptptype was tested with simulation equipments and then did bench-test on 479QE engine. At first, simulation test platform is configured to debug the software and hardware of ECU prptotype by using simulation signal generators. After the feasibility and reliability were verified, the principle ECU was matched with 479QE engine to continue bench-test. The test work consistd of start performance, warm-up performance and non-idle stability test.
