Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a methodical approach to robust design. It does not only focus on improving the existing design or process. DFSS concentrates its efforts on creating a new and improved design or process. It requires applying resources to find out what customers'real needs are, and then devotes the entire project to meet those customers'demand within cost constraint. This dissertation will introduce the engine mount system stiffness optimization with the DFSS methodology. It includes how to collect the voice of customers, how to transfer it into engineering target with HOQ, how to develop the concept of setting up the control factor and noise factor, how to optimize the system parameter, and how to make the design insensitive to the noise factor. The design result can be verified in vehicle in the end.
