Stability of rock mass in slope engineering is a catholic issue in practical construction. The distribution and dimensional combination rule of weak interfaces in rock mass should be paid close attention in stability analysis , because slopes always be cut into potential unbalanced mass or combined blocks by weak interfaces . At the same time , the slide surface and cut surface could be found out integrated free face . Bedding rock slope is very common and bedding stratification and weak plane make it a keypoint and difficulty in slope engineering.In the sight of rockmass structural mechanics , strength characteristic and mechanical effect of structural surface has been described; the factors that influence stability of rock slope also be presented. It summarizes deformation and damage patterns of bedding rock slopes. Then the unbalanced thrust transmission method and lagrange interpolation method used in rock slope stability analysis are exhibited, also the calculation principle of Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continuea (FLAC) which is based on lagrange element method. Taking a segment of bedding rock slope on highway as an object, the dangerous weak structural surface is found after engineering geological and structural analysis. It comes to a conclusion that the slope may shear slip along the structural surface. Based on designing calculation via the unbalanced thrust transmission method, anti-slide pile is recommended as a support. Then stability analysis during excavation is done by back-analysis from monitor data. Combining with fruits of shearing test, the underground water's softening effect and strain-softening characteristic of weak plane are pointed out to be the main triggers of unstability, and it is reasonable to adopt the residual strength in designing calculation. Building geology-mechanical model, the stress and strain state analysis during excavation been made by means of numerical modeling via FLAC . It turns out that rapid construction technology is necessary in slope excavation process. As a followed strengthening method, the prestressed anchor proves useful in increasing skid resistance and controlling deformation of slope through modeling.
