Soil nailing is more and more widely used in cohesive soil slope in recent years. However, the mechanism of soil nailing for cohesive soil slope wasn't understanded completely, it's design theory lagged behind the engineering practice. At the base of analyzing and summarying the research results of the last, the author obtains some research results. I hope that it can provide the beneficial leading to the application of soil nailing in cohesive soil slope.The main contents of the thesis are as the following:(1)The definition and engineering characteristic of cohesive soil are expounded. The failure characteristics of cohesive soil slope are summarized. The fundamental of limit equilibrium and the basic conception of finite slice method which are widely used in cohesive soil slope at present are concluded. Some slice methods in common use are compared and analyzed. Some problems which are existed in stability analysis of cohesive soil slope are discussed. It has carried on the contrast analysis to the soil nailing and the traditional method of cohesive soil slope.(2)The work mechanism, the work function, the design and construction of general principle, which is the fundamental theory of soil nailing, are summarized. Based on this, the design method, construction method and quality monitoring for cohesive soil slope are put forward.(3)Stability calculation methods for soil nail supporting structure in common cohesive soil slope are summarized, and the calculation methods when it use leading support are mended. The question of slice method in interior Stability calculation methods for soil nail supporting structure are discussed and analyzed.(4)Exerting the theory which are summarized by this paper to design the soil nailing and construction for a cohesive soil slope .A foundation pit slope which used leading support, the stability of soil nail supporting structure of it is calculated by exerting the common methods which are used in common cohesive soil slope and improved methods which are mended by this paper. The example calculating results indicated that the installations of the leading support greatly improve the factor of stability of soil nail supporting structure. Furthermore the influence of soil nails'inclined angle and soil friction angle on the role of leading support are analyzed.
