The contact system is the power supply system of electrified railway. It is very important to measure the spatial position of contact system precisely, which ensures the safety of train operation. According to the characteristics of railway construction in China, especially with the operating of high speed railway, the parameter variation in locating the contact system is unavoidable, resulting in the need for remeasuring and revising the position parameter frequently. The traditional measure methods can not satisfy the requirement of measuring safely, precisely and rapidly, as well as the trend of management information in railway operation.Based on analyzing the characteristics of contact system spatial position measuring, this thesis built a reasonable mathematical model and studied a fully digital measuring instrument. For designing a suitable, reliable and portable measuring instrument, the author of this thesis applied the technologies in photics, electronics, mechanics and computer. Thus, fully digital measurement and management of contact system in electrified railway is realized. Some main technical points and test methods for the design of circuit module about measurement and data management were introduced in this thesis, also with the analysis and evaluating of the metrology performance on this measuring instrument.Sensors are the key components of electronic measuring instruments. This thesis studied the operating principle, performance characteristics and technologies application under the industrial environment of phase shift laser range sensor, incremental photoelectric encoder and inclinometer sensor chip. Regarding for practicability, video camera was used for aiming at the contact line and U-disk for storing and transmitting the data, which involved the technologies of video and image OSD and embedded U-disk read-write device.This system adopted US Silicon Laboratories Corporation's 8051 series SOC single-chip as its control unit. Each functional module is controlled by one single-chip, and the host single-chip communicates with each other slave single-chip by UART, which involved some hardware and software techniques of MCU multicomputer data communication.The instrument introduced in this thesis provides a bran-new measurement for measuring the geometrical parameters of electrified railway contact system. It also can promote the informatization of the measurement and management of contact system in electrified railway. This instrument has been put in use and the efficiency of work has been improved greatly in railway sector. It is economically and socially significant.
