Response to the problem of low precision of the pulsed laser range finder, this paper uses the ARM9 S3C2440 and TDC-GP2 chip to design the high precision laser range finder. The results show that the precision of range finder has been greatly improved.This paper aimes at the study of improving the ranging accuracy of the pulsed laser range finder, focusing on solving the short time interval of high-precision measurement and temperature control of laser diode, then designing the interface for the system. This paper has several aspects as follows:Propose the overall design of a pulse ranging measurement system; Design the transmitter and receiver circuit design of the pulsed laser range finder; Select the suitable laser diode and optical detector; Based on the High-precision time measurement TDC-GP2, using the microprocessor ARM9 S3C2440, designing the high precision time interval measurement module, which greatly improves the measurement accuracy; Use the fuzzy self-tuning PID control algorithm to design the laser diode temperature control module; Utilize the Linux embedded operating system to design the interactive interface for the laser ranging software systems, and integrates GPS positioning functions in the laser range finder.
