With the rapid development of automobiles, ships, agricultural machinery and other industry, the diesel engine as one of the core components become the focus of attention. At present, the diesel engine industry rely on foreign technology and computational analysis software so seriously that gradually lost our independent R&D capability of high-end diesel engine. However, through the stable development of diesel engine in China for several decades, the domestic has set up a relatively complete scientific research system of diesel engine, and the domestic basic theory matures. At present, many colleges, research institutions and enterprises are making deep research on the design, calculation and analysis of diesel engine and set up an advanced theory and technology system. As a result of these theoretical technologies are scattered in various institutions and individuals, it can't promote the development of the domestic diesel industry effectively.Therefore, this task built an automatic design platform for diesel engine based on the current demand, status quo and the advantaged conditions. The platform achieved the following specific objectives:Formed the tool set of the calculation of the main performance parameters of diesel engine and the tool set of main system's design and calculation, improved the efficiency and accuracy during the design process of diesel engine.Set up the design guide tools of diesel engine by summarizing the experience and norms of diesel engine design and the expert's knowledge. Realized the integration of expert knowledge and the CAD/CAM/CAE tools. Speeded up and guided the design process of diesel engine.Made rational use of existing design and calculation and analysis software, Austria's AVL, for example. Set up the operation interface and reduced the complexity of the software application by the examples of the analysis of norms. Effectively solved the poor application of the enterprise's complex calculation and analysis software, reduced the product design engineer's requirements and improved the design efficiency and the product's design quality. Formed a unified design platform of diesel engine design, achieved the integration of CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM system. The platform can complete the design documents, three-dimensional model, design and calculation based on the virtual prototyping and ensure the smooth flow of the data.This task has the following innovations:Made the basic design and calculation into software. There are many calculation and analysis relating to diesel engine, but rare serialized software. This platform can promote the development and serialization of domestic specific software on the calculation and analysis of diesel engine.The standardization of CAE analysis. The platform stored the instance of CAE analysis of the main parts of diesel engine. Any R&D personnel can perform CAE analysis by dint of the technology and methods of the examples and by the support of the past knowledge and rules. It simplified the use of complex software of CAE.Reuse of design knowledge. The platform achieved the reuse of knowledge based on rule and case by dint of the platform's design parameters database, rule base and the classification management functions of PDM. It ensured the knowledge guidance, reasoning and reuse in the entire process from the conceptual design, total design, part design, simulation analysis to optimization and partial process of machining.The implementation of the automated platform of diesel engine. The platform is advanced diesel engine design automated platform. It not only provides the calculation and design guidance of the key parameters and main system but also integrated the advanced CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM software at home and abroad. The platform ensured the integration and automation of the design process and implemented the paperless process of diesel engine's design, calculation and analysis process. Integrated the key design process of diesel engine in the platform by the design-led feature. It ensured the accumulation of knowledge of the enterprise and provided a high efficient digital design platform for the diesel engine industry.
