Product design is a complicated process.Traditional design methods can no longer meet the needs of the increasingly developing market.Enterprises have to introduce new design methods to meet the growing market demand.At present,most of product design processes consist of the modification or improvement of the existing products,and parametric design technology applies the existing products techniques to develop new products.It is an effective method of design technology reuse.Therefore,according to the product parametric design method,the development of product-specific 3D CAD software is significantly needed to improve the core competitiveness of enterprises,improve product rel iability,and improve product competence.In response to the needs of a valve manufacturing company in Wenzhou,Zhejiang,the project team has developed a “digital valve integrated design platform" and delivered it to the enterprises.The platform integrat es parameterized design and engineering analysis automation,which significantly improves the design efficiency of the valve.This thesis mainly studies the parametric design and modeling of the valve digital integrated design platform.Finally,Taking into consideration floating ball valve as an example,This paper has developed a digital valve design system.The completed work and the obtained results completed are as follows:First,through the actual research in the enterprise,research on the characteristics of the same type of valve,and three-dimensional modeling methods,the general process of valve design is proposed;the specific parameters of valve design are clarified by the of use conditions and requirements that are related to the desi gn standards.Besides,the overall scheme of valve parametric design is proposed,which is in line with the general methods and development trends of modern CAD design.Second,the floating ball valve is considered as an example to analyze the design and verification process.When the user inputs the known parameters of the design,it can automatically calculate the seal specific pressure,sealing force,and check the valve stem strength,then calculate the results and save the results to the Excel software.Third,the sizes of the valves are classified and sorted by the analytic hierarchy process to extract the main parameters that are required as the user input.When the users use this platform to design valves,by entering the valve’s performance parameters and some main parameters the system automatically calculates other parameters,and generates automatically a three-dimensional model.Finally,a drawing template that meets the needs of the company is developed,and then converted into the 2D and 3D drawing of the floating ball valve.For any changes of the size of the 3D model,the 2D drawing is automatically updated due to the correlation.The API provided by SolidWorks is used to adjust the drawing view,including view scale adjustment,view position adjustment and dimension position adjustment.In the context of Visual Studio 2010(hereinafter referred to as VS2010),this thesis uses SolidWorks 2016 as the three-dimensional development software,uses SQL Server 2014 database to store the information database required for valve design,and uses C ++ language to develop a valve parameter design system.This system can be installed into a computer as a plug-in to SolidWorks,and the validity and practicability of the theoretical method in this thesis is v erified by running examples of actual 3D models.
