Research On The Experiments About Lime-ash Soil Mixed With Steel Slag Used For Highway Base

With the vigorous development of the iron and steel industry, China has to produce a large amount of steel slag. Steel slag accumulated land and has a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, the comprehensive utilization of steel slag has become an important research topic at home and abroad.This paper's main research content is taking the fine steel slag into fine-grained soil stabilized by line and ash which used in road base, studying the pavement performance of lime-ash soil mixed with steel slag through laboratory test. Provide a new way to wider use steel slag in highway projects. Study the following steps:(1) analyze the influences of the content and the gradation of steel slag to unconfined compressive strength and drying shrinkage performance of lime-ash soil mixed with steel slag through uniform experiment design. (2) analyze the factors which effect the strength of lime-ash soil mixed with steel slag, and determine optimal mix through orthogonal experiment design.(3) add no steel slag, steel slag exposure to air and steel slag dipped in water into mixture to evaluate their pavement performance by comparative trials of lime-ash soil.Some points are as follow:(1) the steel slag content about 20 percent to 40 percent, and the size between 0.5 and 5 millimeter content about 40 percent to 60 percent, then the unconfined compression strength and the drying shrinkage performance of mixture can be greatly enhanced.(2) The lime is the main factor to influence the strength of lime-ash soil mixed with steel slag in the early age. The fly ash is the main factor to influence the strength of this mixture in the long age. When the lime content about 9%, the fly ash content about 20% and the steel slag content about 30% in the mixture, this formula is the best mix.(3) Line-ash soil mixed with steel slag dipped in water has higher unconfined compression strength, tensile splitting strength and modulus of compressive resilience in the long age than line-ash soil mixed with steel slag exposure to air.
