Energy and the environment are urgent problems that human beings need to solve exist and development nowadays. It is very important that energy conservation generation dispatching will reduce energy consumption and emission of pollutants to promote sound and rapid development of the national economy. It is necessary to make day-ahead generation schedule for energy saving. Unit commitment is discussed in this dissertation with energy conservation generation dispatching.Energy conservation generation dispatching is studied. Comparing various ways to solve unit commitment problems, solutions and technology trend of unit commitment are discussed. Mathematical model of unit commitment is established, with analyzing the objective function and constraints.A solution of unit commitment with Lagrange Relaxation is put forward. With units get more, computation get more complicated linearly. It is suitable for optimal solution of unit commitment in practical large system. Curse of dimensionality is refrained at the same time. Load dispatching can be calculated by this manner, too.The programs of LR solution are made in Visual Basic 6.0. Visualization screens and menus of file dialog are designed so that reading and writing the database which units date is stored in will be more convenient. The results with examples of Sichuan Power Grid are provided, which prove the solution of unit commitment used by this dissertation is approving, with convergence in an acceptable iteration number.
