CTCS (China Train Control System) is a safety critical system which ensures the safety of train and improves the efficiency of transportation. CTCS level 2 and CTCS level 3 will be widely used for passenger transportation lines which are vigorously developed in our country.As one of the methods to transmit information between track-side and on-board equipments, balise is widely used in train control system. It plays an important part in train control system of our country. In CTCS level 3, balise is used to send information to on-board equipment, which contains train location, level transforms, wireless communication establishing and so on. In CTCS level 2, balise is used to send information to on-board equipment, which contains line speed, line grade, track circuit parameters, temporary speed regulating and so on.In this paper, a simulative sender of balise telegram is discussed and designed, which could be used in CTCS level 3 emulating and testing platform in laboratory. In CTCS level 3 emulating and testing platform, it can simulate the process of sending balise telegram from ground equipment to on-board equipment. Designing and realizing the simulative sender of balise telegram are significant to the construction of CTCS level 3 emulating and testing platform.The main work of this paper contains the follows:(1) ETCS, CTCS and foreign main other train control systems are simply introduced.(2) The structure, sorts, interfaces and work principle of balise are introduced. And the composing process of balise user data is also introduced. The Form Fit Function Specification Coding Strategy is amply analyzed, which shows the process of transforming balise user data into balise telegram.(3) The structure of the simulative sender of balise telegram is based on an ARM embedded module and a FPGA module. The functions of each module are described. The design platforms and programming languages are also introduced.(4) The simulative sender of balise telegram is realized and analyzed based on software of Visual C++ 6.0, ADS1.2 and Max+plusâ…¡. The realizing process of the balise telegram simulative sender is amply described according to the order of telegram coding module, embedded communication module and FPGA module. The design principles and the program flow charts of each module are given. Then the design results of each module of the balise telegram simulative sender are analyzed, such as correctness of the embedded communication module and emulate waveforms of the FPGA module.(5) The main work of this paper is summarized and some further research is pointed out.
