Traditional dense-graded asphalt pavement has many problems which influence the safety of driving vehicles especially on rainy days, such as hydroplaning, spray and splash behind vehicles, and glare particularly at night. However, pervious asphalt pavement is one of the effective means to solve these problems.For the large design percentage of air void (15%~25%) in pervious asphalt mixture, it is sensitive to the environment and the binder used is required to be high properties. This paper suggests a kind of suitable modifier which is fit for the pervious asphalt mixture in our country by blending different modifier into different strain asphalt and comparing their indexes. Meanwhile it puts forward the requirement of index for high viscosity asphalt.Base on plenty of laboratory tests and forward regression, the relationship between the air void of mixture and the passing ratio of main sieve sizes is regressed, the key factor which influence the air void is found, the range of the reasonable gradation is brought forward . The main factor that influences the performance of the pervious asphalt mixture was investigated by performance test of mixture with different air void. Finally, control parameter in construction for pervious asphalt pavement is summarized by paving the testing pavement.
