With increasing of national economy, traffic volume,axial load and traffic channelization, serious rutting and water damage occurred on the heavy-duty asphalt pavements after opening to the traffic, how to effectively control the asphalt pavement premature damage is important for pavement sevice life extension.SBS modified asphalt,Trinidad Lake Asphalt modified asphalt and five gradations have been used in this paper. The volume parameter and pavement performance of different asphalt mixtures have been researched. The paper analyzes reason for variation of Trinidad Lake Asphalt mixture's volume parameter and provides proper volume parameter for Trinidad Lake Asphalt mixture. The results show that Asphalt mixture using Trinidad Lake Asphalt can greatly improve the high temperature performance and water stability, and with increasing of Trinidad Lake Asphalt amount, the performance of Asphalt mixture becomes better. Using gray correlation analysis method to analyse the results of rutting test and direct shear test, the results show that the effects of asphalt binder and gradation on Asphalt mixture performance at high temperature is approximately same.Through Asphalt pavement construction on Si-Xiao expressway in Yunnan, the paper summarized the construction technology, performance and economic effection of Trinidad Lake Asphalt mixture and provided the guide of Trinidad Lake Asphalt application in Asphalt pavement in the future.
