Energy saving of air-conditioning chilled water system to carry is an important aspect of air-conditioning energy-saving, and using variable flow water system of the chilled water system, is the main technical measures to reduce the transmission energy consumption. In this paper, it analysised the application conditions of pump similarity against the variable flow pump system, compared the pump energy consumption in different forms of control, and does energy consumption and economic comparison between the fist pump system and the secondary pump system. the main work and conclusions were as follows:First of all, Analyzed the application conditions of the pump similarity, as well as the proplem that we should attend when the pump similarity is used. Through the analysis, this paper pointed out that the conditions to use pump similarity directly are as follows:â‘ no back-pressure system;â‘¡All the parallel pumps change speed at the same time (including a single pump system changes speed);â‘¢Pipeline characteristic curve does not change. The relationship of the shaft power expressed by the similarity can not be completely representative of the relationship of energy consumption. We must also consider the efficiency of motor and the efficiency of Variable-speed device. So it can not be used to evaluate the energy efficiency of variable speed pumps. In addition, the so-called energy saving is the comparison between the way of pump changing speed and other controlling way to achieve the same objective, rather than compared with of the design condition. The paper also pointed out the problem that the so-called similarity of Generalized Water System existed, and draw out that water system similarity does not exist.Second, Analyzed that the three controlling ways (temperature control, trunk pressure control, pressure control at the end) commonly used in the variable flow system effected on Pipeline characteristic curves and Pump efficiency. The temperature controlling way does not change the pipeline properties curve, but the other two controlling ways does. The pump efficiency does not change under the temperature controlling way, and always runs at the highest point. The pump work point deviates from the best efficiency point most severely under the trunk pressure controlling way, its efficiency is the lowest. The pressure controlling way at the end is between the two above. Analysised the pump energy under three kinds of controlling way. The pump energy is the most under the trunk pressure controlling way, the pump energy is lowst under the temperature controlling way , the pump energy is in center.Finally, Through the examples of real project, the paper carried out the energy consumption analysis and the economical analysis. The results show that the real project can save transport energy consumption significantly when it adorpts the fist pump system than to adopt the second pump system.
