Wind load is an important structural design load, especially for tall structures (such as chimneys, towers, mast, etc.), tall buildings, large-span bridges, cooling towers, roof, etc., and sometimes play a decisive role, and thus wind-resistant design of engineering structures is an important issue. This thesis is composed of three parts as follows:1 .In order to study the vibration effects of wind load on tall buildings, the method of spectral analysis was described and discussed in the paper. We used this method to the calculation of wind-induced vibration in an example of a steel frame structure. Responses were calculated and compared.2.In engineering design, a building beyond a certain height, requires two or more of the finite element analysis software. According to Chinese design code about load and the principle of the wind-induced response analysis, a along wind-induced response analysis of two tall buildings was carried on through the finite element analysis software ETABS. The analysis results from ETABS and SATWE were compared. So as to provide some reference to engineering design.3.The human comfortableness is an important factor. Based on the human comfort calculating model of Technical Specification for Steel Structure of Tall Buildings in China, the maximum acceleration of the peak along-wind and a tall building's human comfortableness was checked.
