With the characteristics of excellent low velocity performance, low noise, high safety, simple structure, low cost, the small H-vertical axis wind turbine provides good market prospect. The wind wheel and the generator are the key components of the wind turbine, which the structure and performance are related with the utilization ratio of the wind turbine. The lack of accurate optimized designing method, the problem of low utilization ratio still exists in the wind turbine system. Aiming at the small H-vertical axis wind turbine, constructing an analysis method and analyzing the aerodynamic performance are very important to the optimal design for the wind turbine.This thesis mainly adopts the numerical simulation method based on the computational fluid dynamics, and analyzes the aerodynamic performance of small H-vertical axis wind turbine, the influence factors of the aerodynamic performance and the matching property between he wind wheel and the generator is proposed based on this conditions.This thesis includes three parts, one is simplification of geometric model and constructing the computing model, another is the influence of wind wheel construct to the aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine, and last is the matching property between wind wheel and generator. Adopting the moving mesh technique, finished the transient CFD computing and got the value of the utilization ratio and the torque, the theory foundation was put forward from the data for optimal design of the wind turbine. The utilization ratio and the torque was computed at different wind velocity. The curves reflecting the relation between wind wheel velocity and utilization ratio, torque were presented, with the comparison of these curves and the generator's performance curves, the research for the matching property between the wind wheel and the generator was finished at last.
