This force is only a part of the most force that is issued by masticatory muscles. The force transmits the periodontal organization from the teeth to transmit the jaw bone to disperse again. It is a sign on the size of chewing function. By measuring the size of bite force can help us to understand the function condition of mouth and jaw system and the healthy situation of teeth, periodontal organization, masticatory muscles and so on, and can also be used as objective indicator of treatment evaluation in oral cavity repair,orthodontic treatment and periodontal treatment. Therefore, measurement of bite force has a strong practical significance.This article is designed the portable measuring instrument for bite force, takes PVDF piezoelectric sensor as sensing unit and converts bite force signal into electric signal based on taking fully into account the human oral environment and the specificity of bite force measurement; Charge amplifier and voltage amplifier is a two PVDF piezoelectric sensor preamplifier circuit, after comparing the advantages and disadvantages of both, select the charge amplifier as the amplifier circuit; Taking into account the general requirements for the design of portable components and their requirements of component circuits, respectively select MAX1242, AT89C51 and LED to constitute the A/D conversion circuit, single-chip control circuit and display circuit and realize analog to digital conversion and digital processing and display. The measuring instrument uses the assembly language to carry on the software programming, has the characteristics of quick speed, high efficiency and real-time. Through the debugging and error analysis, confirmed the measuring instrument can achieve the measurement of bite force.
