With the rapid development of rail transit and the rapid increase of train speed,how to ensure driving safety is a major research topic at home and abroad.Wheelset is one of the most important forced components of the train.Wheelset diameter wear exceeding the limit,tread abrasion and peeling are the most common wheelset faults.It is necessary to detect the wheelset fault accurately,regularly and efficiently.At present,the detection methods of train wheel fault parameters at home and abroad are mainly divided into static detection method and dynamic detection method.The dynamic detection method has a complicated structure and high cost;the conventional static detection method is greatly affected by the inspectors,and the efficiency is low,whose detection result is inconvenient to be archived.The contact type detection is easy to scratch the wheel tread.In view of the deficiencies of these detection methods,this paper proposes and develops a portable laser instrument for measuring the wheel shape and dedicated software.The measuring instrument scans the arc of the wheel rolling circle by a combination of a magnetic grid displacement sensor and a 1-D laser sensor.Transfer the collected data to the dedicated software in the host computer through Bluetooth communication.The dedicated software is responsible for receiving the data collected by the measuring instrument,processing and calculating and displaying the stored measurement result report,realizing low-cost,automated,fast,accurate,non-contact detection and data archiving.In this paper,the random error and system error of the measuring instrument are analyzed in detail,and the system error is compensated.After the compensation,the repeatability error of the instrument does not exceed±0.08mm,and the measuring error of the instrument does not exceed±0.10mm.The portable wheel shape measuring instrument developed in this paper has low cost,high automation and simple operation.At the same time,the repeatability error and the measuring error of the instrument meet the requirements of on-site measurement,so the instrument can be used for on-site measurement.
