| With the development of economy and the improvement of people's awareness of environmental protection, energy saving in buildings is now attracting more and more attention. Nowadays, the problem of global warming continues to worsen and how to reduce energy consumption in the buildings faces challenges. Thus, it is meaningful to improve characteristics of envelops, and utilize them. On one hand, good performances of the envelops will reduce effectively the cooling load caused by global warming; On the other side, it is of great significance to employ the use of thermal mass with night ventilation strategy, which will reduce the cooling load as well as keep the indoor environment comfortable.As the main structure of buildings, envelops with good thermal parameters can be an effective bulwark against the impact imposed by the external environment on indoor thermal environment. At the same time, the use of thermal mass with night ventilation strategy is an environment friendly method for energy saving. However, currently, there is little research about how to alternate the thermal parameters of envelops to reduce the energy consumption resulted from global warming. Researches on the night ventilation strategy are quite limited. It is difficult to find relevant data and conclusions as well. Consequently, it is meaningful to use building models and simulation tool to research the energy saving strategies.On the basis of analyzing energy saving strategies home and abroad, this paper carried out theoretical analysis and simulation to study the methods of energy saving, characteristics of thermal mass and effects of night ventilation strategies. The main researches include:First, by learning climate model provided by IPCC, estimated future temperature caused by global warming and process climate data. At the same time, set up a building model according to EnergyPlus to prepare for the next step.Second, used PSO algorithm to identify parameters in J. E. Braun's building model. By inputting different climate data and keeping the cooling load invariable, alternative parameters were got, which predicted the real changes of the envelop parameters under global warming. Third, according to divided rules of climate zones, this paper carried out researches on energy saving effects with heavy walls and night ventilation in four different climate zones which stand for Chinese climate features. This paper set up models for buildings with heavy walls and thermal mass, and compared EnergyPlus simulation results with the one with light walls. The results provided references about energy strategies application.Finally, this paper studied a project example, and analyzed economic feasibility of energy saving strategies based on the results of the simulation.
